General Director HBP
Sam has spent the last 22 years working in Asia all with the HBP Group as a project manager and quantity surveyor, through directorship to his current position as General Director. Sam was a founding shareholder and director of Qudos Asia Ltd, a development company responsible for the Avalon Apartments in HCMC and was an executive director in the attempted raising of the PXP – Qudos Vietnam Property Development Fund and the Protego Qudos Vietnam Property Development Fund. Sam holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design, a Graduate Diploma in Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Property and Construction, all from the University of Melbourne, and is a current member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AAIQS).
After graduating in 1983 with an honours degree in Building from Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh), James worked in the UK until 1990 in project manager positions with major international main contracting groups. James then became involved in professional project management consulting in Australia and Papua New Guinea with the Kinhill Group and in 1993 moved to Vietnam. James became an HBP director in 1996 and has played a key role in the company development. Specialist client representative roles for HBP have also taken him to surrounding countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and the Philippines.
Phan Thi Thanh Lan
A graduate of the HCMC Finance & Accounting University in August 1993. Lan is one of the first 8 students recruited into the HCMC Finance Department in 1994 and was developed to become a Finance Inspector of the HCMC Finance Department. Lan has predominantly been involved with Foreign Investment Companies like Saigon Water Park as Finance Manager. Lan joined HBP Project Management in 2000 as a Chief Accountant and in 2009 Lan was promoted to the position of Finance Director. Lan has over 22 years experience in Finance and Accounting to both Vietnamese and International Standards.
